Tiffin University’s online campus offers an array of degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Undergraduate programs offered online include a B.A. in Health, Fitness & Wellness, a B.A. in Psychology, a B.S. in Healthcare Administration, a B.S. in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Criminal Justice or a Bachelor of Business Administration. The BJC program includes concentrations in areas like corrections, criminal behavior, criminalistics, homeland security and terrorism, justice administration and law enforcement. The BBA programs include accounting, human resources management, managerial studies, and marketing.
Students pursuing master’s degrees can receive an MBA with concentrations that include data analytics, finance, forensics and fraud examination, healthcare administration, sports management, and many others. Tiffin University is a private, non-profit university based out of Tiffin, Ohio. The school was founded in 1888 as a division of Heidelberg College. The institution parted ways with Heidelberg in 1917 to populate its own campus. Today, Tiffin University has a traditional campus and a booming online presence. The school boasts about 4,200 students. About 1,500 of those take classes at the school’s home campus.
The home campus of Tiffin University has a respected music program, an active Greek community and a large number of sports. Tiffin University Application Requirements
Students who wish to pursue an undergraduate degree through Tiffin University must complete the free online application and provide proof of high school graduation. Incoming freshmen must show a high school GPA of no less than 2.5. Transfer students may not have lower than a 2.0 GPA in order to transfer credits. These requirements apply to all incoming students whether their choice is to attend a traditional classroom or learn online.
Master’s or doctorate students must show proof of completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution. They must also have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0. The school expects applicants to the graduate school to complete a resume or curriculum vitae as well as a personal essay.
Official transcripts must be sent directly to the school. Students should also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at the time they submit the application.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition at Tiffin University is based on which type of learning the student prefers. Tuition to attend the home campus is $25,710 per year for full-time students. Tiffin University considers any student taking 12 to 16 credit hours to be full-time. Students who take fewer than 12 hours are charged $857 per credit hour. Any students wishing to take more than 16 hours is charged the standard block fee plus the per hour tuition rate for every hour exceeding 16.
In addition to tuition, students who live on-campus must pay for housing and a meal plan. These costs vary depending on the type of meal plan and level of housing. Other expenses include academic fees, laboratory fees, supplementary course materials, and any additional fees as they pertain to individual students.
Online learners are charged $460 per credit hour for all classes. Students who take graduate-level courses online are charged between $550 to $800. This figure varies due to the different types of graduate programs that are offered through the school. Online learners are charged technology fees of $200 per semester.
Financial aid is available to all students. Students who exhibit need through the FAFSA may be eligible for federal and state grants. In addition, students may receive scholarships through Tiffin University. Students may receive individual scholarships of a few hundred dollars or up to $14,000 per year if awarded the Trustee Scholarship. Other scholarships include the President Scholarship, worth $13,000; the Dean Grant, worth $10,000; the 1888 Grant, worth $8,000 and the Green & Gold Grant, which has a value of $6,000 per year. Students may also be given departmental or athletic scholarships. In addition, students may apply outside scholarships to their tuition and other expenses at the university.
