Many programs at Kansas State University are also licensed, accredited, and registered by various agencies. Within the College of Agriculture, the Food Science & Industry undergraduate degree has gained accreditation by the Institute of Food Technologists, and the Park Management & Conservation undergraduate program has earned accreditation from the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism, and Related Professions. The graduate degree in Architecture is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board, and the Interior Architecture and Product Design program has been accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
Kansas State University Application Requirements
Application requirements for Kansas State University include having a minimum 2.5 GPA in high school, a 2.0 GPA on any previously attempted college-level work, and a minimum ACT score of 21 or an SAT score of 980. Students must also complete the recommended college preparatory classes as listed by the university. Students with a high school diploma are invited to apply, and the university also accepts applications from home-schooled students and applicants with GED or high school equivalency degrees. Students may qualify for advanced credit by completing the College Level Examination Program or the DANTES Subject Standardized Test. The university also accepts credits earned while in the military, as well as international baccalaureate degrees. For graduate degree programs, students may need to submit supplemental materials for their intended program that may include letters of recommendation, a resume, a statement of objectives, and transcripts from a bachelor’s degree.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Tuition for in-state students at the undergraduate level is $312.50 per credit hour. Out-of-state students will pay $829.30 per credit hour. Some classes may also require additional course fees. Students will also pay a comprehensive Privilege Fee that will include payments to the school newspaper, recreation complex, and health services. Students who live on campus will pay between $8,970 and $9,680 for a double-occupancy dorm room and a meal plan. The cost to live in a fraternity house is $7,700 per year and the cost to live in a sorority is $7,000 per year. The school estimates that books and supplies will cost between $800 and $900 a year and that students will also need to cover miscellaneous fees that will range from $1,600 to $4,000 a year.
Eligible students will receive a financial aid award from the Office of Student Financial Aid and must view an Orientation and Enrollment presentation after accepting a financial aid award. Types of aid a student may qualify for include Work-Study awards, loans, grants, military veteran benefits, and scholarships. During the financial aid application process, students will work with a financial advisor and are encouraged to seek out independent scholarships in addition to federal financial aid. The university also offers several institutional-level scholarships for new and returning students.
